Onyx Midwifery: My story, My Philosophy

For me, establishing trust between my client and myself is the most fundamental and most important. My midwifery practice is built on the foundation of nurturing trust and learning to let go of the things we allow to interfere with trust. I want to encourage trusting in yourself, trusting in your body and the natural process of giving birth, trusting in your baby and their own divinely written birth story, trusting in humanity and the world your baby is born into and trusting in our partnership; as client and midwife. I believe, when a woman is heard, she is seen; when she is seen, she has a voice; and as her midwife I am compelled to encourage her to honor that voice; her voice. In this way I believe I am blessed with an opportunity to fulfill my role as supporter, facilitator, educator and client advocate; the ultimate calling of a midwife. For me, describing the process of birth is like trying to describe a miracle; and walking with a woman as she becomes a mother is even more profound…I am beyond words. Donna LM, CPM

A Calm & Supportive Birth Environment

Onyx Midwifery is more than a service—it’s a nurturing space of trust, comfort, and individualized care. The Onyx Midwifery model of care begins with 24 amazing Golden Hours of family bonding, support, guidance and education.

Thoughtfully designed to provide comfort and tranquility, our birthing suite features: • A birthing tub for relaxation & a natural birthing experience • A birthing rope for additional support during movement & positioning • A queen bed, linens, pillows & towels for a restful postpartum recovery • A private & secure entry to our Onyx Midwifery In-home birthing suite

Your individualized care includes: • Holistic remedies to support labor & birth • Encouraged movement & guided position changes • Vaginal exams (only as needed or requested) • Abdominal palpation & fetal monitoring throughout labor • Hydration & high protein snacks throughout labor & postpartum

Your 24 hours of Onyx Midwifery care includes: • Nutrition & hydration during labor • An immediate postpartum high protein snack with herbal tea • A postpartum recovery smoothie • 3 all natural, homemade meals: Restorative, Healing and Balancing over 24 hours.
